History
In 1983 | with just 6 machines the Eroğlu brothers, under the leadership of the then and still Board Chairman, Nurettin Eroğlu, laid the foundatios of Eroğlu Holding. Later, Eroğlu Clothing was established in Kumkapı and began coat and duffle coat production in a 150m²-workshop with a team consisting of 15 people. |
| In 1986 | with the Kulis brand, in addition to coat and duffle coat; jeans and shirt manufacturing was initiated.. Moreover, by opening a sales store in Mercan; wholesale and retail sales marketing commenced. |
| 1987 | was the turning point for Eroğlu Holding, as the clothing workshop moved to Küçükçekmece and with the KULİS brand production of, trousers, shirts, coat and duffle-coat was initiated |
| In 1991 | the company produced 1000-1500 units daily with personnel of 200. Demand increased and the company needed to expand. |
| In 1992 | the construction of a factory on a 10.000 m²-production area was completed in Avcılar with the production of 5.000 products daily. During this period, while production departments like washing, buttonholing, ironing, and packaging were being specialized in their own; marketing, exporting, finance departments were restructured. The name Eroğlu Confection changed to Eroğlu Clothing Industry and the brand called Kulis was switched to Colin’s Jeans. |
| In 1994 | the daily production increased to 10.000 units, and export to many Eastern European countries with special emphasis on Russia was initiated. |
| In 1995 | Colin's Clothing Industry and Inc. was established and daily production was increased to 18.000 units. Colin's Clothing Industry and Inc. were established in order to organize the marketing activities. The sales and marketing activities all over the world and especially in Russia and The Turkish Republics of central Asia rapidly increased. Simultaneously, the first Colin’s store was opened in Moscow, and a company was established for monitoring and managing the operation in Russia. |
| In 1996 | a production area of 5.000 m² was added to the existing factory building. The Number of Employees reached to 700 and the daily average production of 20.000 units was achieved. |
| In 1997 | the company, which included a team of 700 personnel, daily production capacity of 20.000 units of sports clothes, with 3 stores at home, 2 stores abroad, implemented a restructuring period within the context of "Management-organization and restructuring project". In this period the Loft brand was added to the range and through the establishment of Ers Knitting Inc., production in knitting sector was introduced. Erk Inc. was founded with the purpose of marketing the Loft brand. The construction company was also established and began to conduct the group’s own construction projects. |
| In 1998 | the construction of new integrated facility having a 35.000 m²-production area in Esenyurt was completed. Thus, weaving and knitting production processes arose in separate factories. The number of stores in Turkey was increased to 7 and the number abroad reached 3. Furthermore, Erma Inc. was established to manage store operations. |
| In 1999 | the construction of head office and shopping center commenced in Şirinevler with a 10.000 m²-total area. The number of stores at home was increased to 11 and the number abroad reached 6. In this period, in addition to producing its own products, the company produced clothing for world famous brands like Calvin Klein, Next, Tommy Hilfiger, GAP. |
| In 2000 | the construction of a head office and shopping center in Şirinevler was completed. Domestic and foreign marketing activities were combined on the same premises. The big store concept of "Marka&Marka" was conceived and the first big store (2000 m²) was opened in Ümraniye. A further five-storey "Marka&Marka" store was opened in Şirinevler. |
| In 2003 | the company underwent a period of very rapid growth. The enterprise, while turning the factory in Çorlu into the most developed sportswear production facility in the world, the company added 45.000 m² of production facilities specializing in washing technologies. Moreover, the company began to produce its own energy by operating its own cogeneration facility and operating the most advanced waste treatment facility in Europe. Additionally, the group continued to open stores through strategic investments in Russia and became the first Turkish company to produce clothes in Russia. Furthermore, the marketing activities were undertaken in Europe and U.S.A as well as developing the markets in Russia and the Turkish Republics of Central Asia. In these regions, both companies were established and store activities were started. |
| In 2005 | the restructuring project of the enterprise was completed. R&D studies related to the non-textile sectors were set in motion. As a result of these studies, the construction sector was determined as the new investment area and related project development studies were conducted. Also, the Aksaray production facility, which was opened in 2004, developed rapidly. |
| 2007 | Eroğlu Holding is producing approximately 20.000.000 units of sportswear with holding-owned Colin’s and Loft brands, which are for sale in its own 167 stores and nearly in 3.000 retail points at home and abroad. In the whole organization, there is a total of 5 521 personnel, working in Turkey and abroad. Eroğlu Holding, which is a family company, owning Colin's and Loft brands, favored internationally with its original designs and can be included among the most significant companies of textile and clothing sector. A new investment area was determined: the construction sector. The projects of the group in this sector have been rapidly developing. In this framework, residential and retail projects with 350.000 m² indoor area immediately started in Tekirdağ, İstanbul Ümraniye, Merter, Golden Horne, Russia/Moscow and Tataristan / Kazan. Additional studies for the "Turquality Project" and other projects on management, restructuring and especially institutionalization as a family owned company and the formation of a constitution for the family company have been conducted. |
